Our Products

Our family have always butchered our meats in the back of the shop. We will have the usual favourites such as our famous sausages, pork belly, gammon and poultry cuts.

But if you are looking for something specific or special, like a 3 bird roast (we have even done a 5 bird!) just ask.

Not only can we give you advice on what the best cut of meat is for the meal you are planing to make, we can also provide you lots of tried and tested recipes. The most popular recipes at the moment are pork belly, or what to put on a glaze for a whole ham (especially popular for easter feast days).

Beef

We source our beef from a number of breeds and we work with our farmers to offer superbly marbled cuts, matured on the bone. So whether it is rib, sirloin or shin; freshly cut or dry-aged; we will be able to offer you whatever you need.

Lamb

Lamb is a highly regional product that can vary throughout the year - and because all our lamb is grass fed it can also depend on local weather conditions. We highly recommend discussing your options with us and we will be able to advise on the best cuts (our favourite is shoulder) and recipes.

Poultry

All of our poultry is free range, home-and-slow grown and fed local herbs. We offer any part of the bird, along with whole birds as well. So whether you want a chicken carcass, some chicken thighs or a few pounds of turkey mince we can offer it all.

Pork

All of our pigs enjoy an outdoor, free range lifestyle with a safe and nutritious diet. All this produces a traditional pork flavour you simply will not find in the supermarket. Our pork belly is a particular favourite but we also recommend the often overlooked “blade” cut from behind the shoulder.

Game

uncooked meat that looks very rich and red, the meat is on a wooden chopping board and has been seasoned with salt and pepper grinds

We have a sporadic mix of game available, shot on the farms of our suppliers. Due to our inconsistent supply you should check in store what is available, but hare, grouse, mallard and and guinea foul are delicious meats in their own right and we are only too happy to advise on how to get the most out of them.

Made in house

several slices of uncooked bacon that has been folded up to look nicer as a display, the bacon is on a long and thin wooden display board, and the end has a garnish of a sprig of thyme

We have a number of products that are processed in-house, such as our sausages that include over 85% pork, our bacon which includes both streak and back bacon, as well as our own black pudding. We also occasionally offer gammon and haggis, so please check in-store.
